John J. Roe, III has been practicing law in Suffolk County for more than 35 years.  Estate Planning is the major focus of his practice and that expertise resulted in his recent appointment as Co-Chair of the Surrogate’s Court Committee of the Suffolk County Bar Association.  Mr. Roe is a partner at Roe, Taroff, Taitz & Portman, LLP which recently relocated to One Corporate Plaza, Bohemia, NY.

In addition to Estate Planning, Mr. Roe’s practice areas include real estate and corporate matters.  The needs and goals of his clients are his primary concern whether he is handling a simple real estate deal or a more complex corporate reorganization.

A dedication to community comes naturally to Mr. Roe who is the ninth generation of John Roe to live in the Town of Brookhaven.  One of his ancestors, Austin Roe, was a spy for the colonials during the Revolutionary War.

Mr. Roe, an Eagle Scout, is a Vice President and attorney for the Suffolk County Council, Inc. Boy Scouts of America and received the Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor for a volunteer, for his service. 
Mr. Roe is an active member of the Rotary Club of Bellport and served as its President, Secretary and Director for a number of years.  He has served as an aide to two District Governors and was designated a Paul Harris Fellow by his club, the highest honor for a Rotarian.
