2011 Gala “A Salute to the Silver Screen”

The Great Neck Arts Center (GNAC), a prestigious local art institution, recently held its 2011 Gala “A Salute to the Silver Screen” at the New York Institute of Technology’s de Seversky Mansion in Old Westbury. Along with musical performances, the establishment of the J. Leonard Samansky Arts Scholarship Fund was announced and this year’s honorees made speeches—musician Alexa Ray Joel (via video), artist/animator Bill Plympton and film series supporters Terri Carr Muran and Eileen and Alan Sarroff. greatneckarts.org
