Murphy’s Bar & Grill
(516) 741-1776, Mineola
murphysbarny.com

“The 3 LB. Burger Challenge” = consume 3lbs of Murphy’s meat in less than one hour and the consumption is free. WHO’S DOWN?

Brews Brothers Grille
(516) 216-5008, Franklin Square
brewsbrothersgrille.com

Adjunct-chuggin’ Bluto would gleam with the addition of micro-selections like Brooklyn, New York’s Sixpoint, Newport, Oregon’s Rogue and Bridgewater Corners, Vermont’s Long Trail. Or not. Either way, I love ‘lushi and craft.

The Stone Turtle
(516) 431-6570, Island Park
thestoneturtlerestaurant.com

“Four Cheese Wild Boar and Sausage Lasagna,” “The Dirty Ashtray” and Gulden Draak for the tummy win.

SUFFOLK

Fadeley’s Deli Pub
(631) 758-8882, Patchogue

“Like” Facebook page for antique (1989?) photographs of cold cut counters and cummerbund uniform afternoons. K.C. Lovedrops now back-country twangs while I politely swig Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale amongst Jerry wool throws and Bavaria drafts. Pub gem of our island.

Barrique Kitchen & Wine Bar
(631) 321-1175, Babylon
barriquekitchenandwinebar.com

American-focused vino list of 150, with option varieties like flight tastes and by-the-glass availability, entire menu, as long as one human, is available for two glasses minimum.

Canterbury Ales
(631) 549-4404, Huntington
canterburyales.com

Last visit included miss of microbrewery-restaurant Southampton Publick House’s mega-rare French Country Christmas Ale (or Bière de Garde, which translates to “beer for storage”) keg by three hours and, as a result, subsequent disappointment voyage to corpo-caffeine-chained establishment for skim quad latte. Epic fail? Yes.
