NASSAU

Sugar Dining Den/Social Club
(516) 248-7600, Carle Place
sugarli.com

The best word to describe this place is its name. Sugar is known for its array of fun candy-like drinks—who wouldn’t want a throwback cotton candy or blow-pop treat in an adult-form martini? On weekends, the dining tables are moved for after-hours dancing and bottle service accommodations. This venue attracts Nassau County’s most lovely cougars and cubs alike. Make sure you remember that killer outfit.

Coolfish
(516) 921-3250, Syosset

The bar scene is laid back—TVs play the big sporting event of the night but are accompanied by a guitar player on weekend nights. The food is absolutely awesome, especially their $34 recession price-fix three-course meal selection, which includes a glass of wine. In the mood for chocolate? Make sure you tackle the “tee-pee” dessert with sprinkled Rice Krispies.

SUFFOLK

Honu
(631) 421-6900, Huntington
honukitchen.com

You may forget you are on Long Island while at this Huntington spot: Beautiful chandeliers, high ceilings and a DJ on weekend nights. You will make use of your dancing shoes without heading into the city. After dinner, the dining area turns into a dance floor with the option of still “just a night at the bar.” Make sure you don’t end your night without having their Besito margarita, a cocktail done perfectly.

NYC PICK

Empire Hotel
(212) 265-7400, 44 West 63rd St, NYC
empirehotelnyc.com

This rooftop lounge is open all year long. Open roof in the summer and lit fireplaces throughout the winter. The view of Lincoln Center from the top is just one of the highlights of this hotspot. The crowd brings in the mid-20s to upper-30s trendsetters who like to dance until the early hours of the morning.
