Long Island Wine & Dine Benefit: Hurricane Sandy Relief Benefit 2012

Published: Thursday, December 13, 2012

On Monday, December 10th at 6:30pm at The Carltun of East Meadow, local businesses, and sponsors, such as Long Island Pulse Magazine, came together to raise money for victims of Sandy.

What started as a collaboration between Sparkling Pointe Vineyard and Tom Schaudel’s group turned out to bring together over 50 sponsors from the Nassau and Suffolk area. The evening was a wonderful array of tastings from fine restaurants such as Rare650, Monsoon and Noah’s, wineries throughout the North Fork of the Island and special raffles from WFAN, The Great Restaurants of Long Island and local jewelers. Sommeliers, celebrity athletes and many more came to support this great cause.

The entire evening, including the event space, food, beverages, raffles items and volunteers have all been donated allowing us to give 100% of the proceeds to the McCormick Foundation’s Hurricane Sandy Long Island Disaster Relief.  At the end of the night close to $40,000 was raised going directly to the fund.

The money is being distributed directly to the Long Islanders in need including charities such as UMCOR, Long Island Volunteer Center and Federal Employee Guide Services.
