WEHM’s New Release Tuesdays December 2010

Author: Long Island Pulse | Published: Thursday, November 18, 2010

November artists appearing on 92.9 & 96.9 WEHM New Release Tuesdays with Harry Wareing (airing every Tuesday night from 9-10pm) revisit tried and true sounds and form new ones.

Quirky alternative rockers Cake are coming out with Showroom of Compassion and the track “Sick of Me.” The song has an old-time sixties’ feel with secret-agent fuzz guitar riffs, but also features the distinctive vocals of lead singer John McCrea and a good groove.

Welsh singer and newcomer Duffy has released her second studio album Endlessly and the song “Well, Well, Well.” It contains heavy techno elements and big hooks, along with Duffy’s unforgettable modern soul voice.

Singer/songwriter Amos Lee’s latest is Mission Bell and the tune “Windows are Rolled Down.” Atop the song’s clean, modern production, Lee’s vocals cut through like a grizzled old bluesman playing a well-worn folk song.
