Because in Love

Because in Love
words by nadA

because in love
you have to believe in more than just memories

fingers locked
and toes to toes
knee between knee between
knee between knee
bodies bridge beyond time
to a song

a quiet glance of young days
lazy afternoon dreams
a candle
the beautiful
melancholy of a saxophone

it is the sparkle of a smile
that promises poetry
and exotic places
words, like “yes” (oh yes!)
a reach across white linens
in deep midnight sleep

in love you believe
in the miniscule gestures
infinite details
and accidental heartbreaks—
a missed call, a letter lost—

in love
you have to believe in the future.
