In the artist’s quest to reconcile perception and reality, he has embarked on epic works that explore the pareidolia—the mind’s eye subscribing images that don’t exist (like a cloud taking the form of a rabbit). Unabashedly post-modern, pieces are rudimentary in nature, but do not expense the elegance of fragility. By eroding preconceived notions of weight and separation, Vivas plays on our biases, steering us adroitly to existential dilemmas. Often, the works are so intrinsically frail, they seem bigger than they are, domineering, and therefore bring our own frailties to the fore. Sponging his inspirations from earth’s far corners, the artist is developing a cosmic sensibility.

Chris, what beautiful work! The first has so much feeling, even in the physical realm.. I feel it in my gut. Many congrats on this wonderful article! The writer says it far better than I do!
Chris is an amazing artist. I knew this from my very first encounter with him. He has vision, passion and drive. Hopefully he will hook up with all the right people and they too will help him on his journey to whatever he wishes for himself.
Love the new work Chris…hope you are doing well…Keep me posted with upcoming exhibitions
